I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of History at Claflin University, here in the state of South Carolina. My research interests include the history of the American South since 1945, and African American intellectual and political history. My dissertation is on the ways in which white Southern Democratic Party leaders in the Deep South appealed to African American voters between 1964 and 1994. I am also the book review editor and blogger for the Society of U.S. Intellectual Historians.
